For the past couple of years I have gone through personal changes in my life so spend time listening to different genres of music. Sometimes you have to step away from Dance music scene and venture into other music spread worldwide. Music is the source to self healing so I encourage you to listen with an open ear. From Rock, latin, Brizilian, Country, Soul, Hip Hop, R&B and Experimental. I try to tell stories with my mixes and move my listeners in different directions without missing a beat. I am a perfectionist and always have been when it came to Deejaying. My goal with this mix is to cover some of the past and current stuff I am listening to at the moment. I like for you to take this time to embrace what's happening in the world and learn how music can be a source of healing.

Making it a part of whom I am in one of most toughest industries in the world. The dance world has changed in so many ways. A must for any dj/ producer to adapt to the future of the groove. I was one of the chosen to dedicate my craft for the love of house music but dedicate myself to a great friend whom I was very close to, Aaron Carl". Being a part of this project meant a lot to me because of my friendship with Aaron Carl.

Aaron Carl has his Phd. in dance music, both a producer and dj. He made music from the soul but always managed to engage himself with all genres of music in the world. This inspired me to continue my journey in doing a style that mixes latin and electronica flavors. My mix fuses the elements of deep house, electro, and funky Detroit elements. This has always been Aaron's fuse to his music. I spent the last couple of months listening to Aaron's personal collection of music and more especially his taste in electronic music. This helped me fuse those elements together and focus a groove on the floor.

My mix speaks a language in it self and I am hoping that it capture what Aaron would have played to his listeners. I am proud to be part of this special project but that I am contributing to his kids well being. RIP Aaron Carl!!

Teena Marie, R&B's 'Ivory Queen of Soul,' dies at 54

Teena Marie, the singer-songwriter known for such funk-infused 1980s hits as "I Need Your Lovin' " and "Lovergirl," who was one of the few white musicians to achieve renown on the R&B charts, was found dead Dec. 26 at her home in Pasadena, Calif. She was 54.

The cause of death was not immediately known.

Born Mary Christine Brockert on March 5, 1956, in Santa Monica, Calif., Ms. Marie was raised in a predominantly black area of Los Angeles and began singing professionally at age 8.

Soon after graduating from high school, she signed with Motown Records, where she met funk music pioneer Rick James, who would become her mentor, musical collaborator and lover, a relationship she described as "fiery."

He produced her 1979 debut album, "Wild and Peaceful," which went gold and featured her first hit single, a duet with James called "I'm a Sucker for Your Love."

Ms. Marie recounted later that Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr., unsure how black audiences might react to her image, decided the album cover should feature a seascape with clouds rather than her photograph.

Many R&B enthusiasts who loved her strong bluesy vocals didn't realize she was white until her photograph was featured on her second album, "Lady T," in 1980. By then, she already had a large following in the black community.

"A tiny young woman with a powerful voice," a Los Angeles Times critic wrote in 1981, "Marie is a terrific singer and, quite frankly, better than nearly all her black competitors."

Ms. Marie quarreled with Motown over royalties and fought to be released from her contract. The legal battle, which was settled in the early 1980s, resulted in the Brockert Initiative, named for her, which curbs a record company's power to keep musicians under contract while refusing to release their music.

"It wasn't something I set out to do," she told the Times in 2004. "I just wanted to get away from Motown and have a good life. But it helped a lot of people, like Luther Vandross and the Mary Jane Girls and a lot of different artists, to be able to get out of their contracts."

Ms. Marie, sometimes called the "Ivory Queen of Soul," went on to produce her own albums. She largely vanished from the public eye in the early 1990s after the birth of her daughter, Alia.

In 2004 she put out her first new album in a decade, "La Dona," featuring the track "Still in Love," which earned her a Grammy nomination.

Besides her daughter, a complete list of survivors was not available.

Wallshaker Music founder Aaron-Carl Ragland, best known simply as Aaron-Carl, died earlier today of cancer.

The acclaimed Detroit house producer had been very candid about his health over the past few weeks, using various social media channels to keep fans informed. After canceling his European tour, he wrote an entry on his MySpace blog explaining his trials in and out of the hospital. Earlier this week, he posted a video on his homepage discussing his official diagnosis. All the while, he let out a steady stream of Twitter messages and Facebook updates, the last of which read "Finished the bone marrow biopsy. Ouch! Now I'm preparing for the lymph node removal. Surgery, here I come!" The first notice of his death came earlier today when his friend and like-minded artist Pirahnahead wrote on his Facebook page "Just lost one of his best friends, Aaron-Carl, and my arms are far too short to box with GOD. One of the best Human beings in the WORLD is gone. I have no words. Music is Silence."

Over the course of his nearly two-decade career, Ragland's music saw release on some of house and techno's most respected labels, including Ovum and the Underground Resistance sub-label Soul City. In 2002 he launched his own imprint, Wallshaker Music, which served mainly as a platform for his own soulful house records. Our thoughts are with Ragland's friends and family at this time.

I have been around but just haven't done much communication here these days. However, I like to send my hellos to all my friends who stuck it out with me this year. It was a tough one but truly a learning experience. No matter what, my love still goes out to you and wishing you the best in your life. You know who you are....

I have been in the studio working on my forth album so hopefully I will have a couple of singles out by the WMC. I want to thank Dennis from Selektra Recordings for being by my side and supporting what I do.

Any how, my Facebook is down and I prefer it that way. That shit is evil! Stay tune this coming Tuesday December 14th; I will air a rare interview with Aaron Carl on www.radio.myhouse-yourhouse.net. As you all know, Aaron died later this year of cancer. Which brings this to a thought, I am currently working on a project with a few other DJS world wide in dedication to him. Proceeds will go to his kids and family. RIP Aaron Carl...

He can be heard DJing on his bi-weekly radio show, “Synchronized” on myhouse-yourhouse.net where he mixes latin, jazz, broken beat, hip-hop, house, afro-beat, and tech house into a genre-defying blend.

June’s deep-yet-dancey style is well represented in Rhythm Into Motion, a rich deep house track that incorporates a spoken word piece, filtered chords, a smattering of latin percussion, a dense fudgey bassline and a rubbery lead. Kmar’s voice oozes through the music with June highlighting the poetry here and there with effects. The global cultural community lost another giant last week with the passing of Dr. Harrison Ridley, Jr., on-air personality for WRTI Temple University Public Radio and learned musicologist. His encyclopedic knowledge of, and reverence for, jazz was well-established by anyone who had the pleasure of spending just a few moments listening to his shows or attending his lectures. And his hearty laugh and ready smile were icing on the cake.

He will be deeply missed, but we owe it to him to keep the music alive and grooving. This is June's attempt to do just that.

Thank you for featuring my show "Groovestters" on SSR, it was a great year where I pushed the buttons with grooves of the past and the present. Thank you so very much! To my friends in the UK, Alex, Sam, and Klutz at MHYH-myhouse-yourhouse for doing such an outstanding job with the radio show "Syncronized" I played the best in deep house, techno, and eclectic grooves from broken beat, nu-jazz to Latin. Thanks a million to all my world wide listeners every where who supported the show and downloaded the pod cast from SSR. More to come for 2009!

I like to thank each and everyone for supporting Groovesetters on FPR. At this time I like to let all of my listeners know that my show will not be airing on FPR anymore. I am in the process of traveling and moving onto bigger and better things in my life. However, for those of you out there who enjoyed a great groove. You will still be able to down load my shows from SSR.

I want to thank each one of you for supporting my shows over the past year for Syncronized and Groovesetters. I decided to take a break this month and rest. I was burning myself with production, the radio shows and my 9 to 5. My trek to WMC has also came to a halt, so I promised to bring it on Syncronized. (I will miss you guys at MHYH WMC party).

Great news! It is my little baby's B-day this coming April, so I had to slow my role. I love my daughter dearly and I figure spend this time resting and preparing for her 13th birthday. Wow, I am getting old. LMAO

I am gearing up for next months show. I have compiled a mix of grooves for you on the next Groovesetters. It's going to be live, so stay in tune for some excitement this coming Arpil.

I am also compiling a mix for Syncronized since I didn't make it to Miami this year. Sorry!
